For this project I was interested in mico-organisms. The world under the microscope appealed to me because of its hidden nature, despite its ubiquity. That is, these tiny creatures constantly surround us, these cells make up all of us, yet without the aid of technology they are invisible to us.
Their physical forms also appealed to me as their representations have a kind of duality where their realistic representations seem almost abstract. Thus I felt I could tap into some traditions of etchng, (sketching, realism) while also indulging my own penchant for abstraction.
